At the same time, this day in age when workers have access to their smart phones, ipads, etc., employees still have the ability to misuse the Internet during their work day. Companies should always have a very clear and concise set of rules and policies when it comes to Internet use of any kind and also about the use of personal cellphones during the work day. A company having their policies properly stated would help them to enforce them and be able to take the correct measures of disciplining employees who disregard those policies.

DeleteI do not personally see a problem with the use of some entertainment sites for only a few minutes throughout the work day, as many employees work between 8 and 12 hours a day, so maybe they need a little break from work for 3-4 minutes and that should not hurt the company or the business if the employee likes what they are doing and does their best during the time that they are actually focusing on the job and working. I believe that efficiency in the work place is heavily dependent on how passionate and motivated a worker is about their job, if I love my job and I am engaged I will keep working until it is time to clock out, and vice verse if I am only motivated by the pay then I will try to find any chance to do something else other than working! I am sorry if my arguments seem a little off the charts, but this is just my personal opinion and feel free to disagree. I just hate the idea of companies spending actual money that could be invested in projects to spy on their employees, because a companies performance is an indication of how efficiently its employees are using their resources (including time) and spying does not help indicate anything, but in return it makes the problem even worse by putting negative feelings of fear into the employees and making them hate their jobs even more.
